Intermediate and Advanced Networking

The topic covers protocol-independent routing features, filter-based forwarding and load balancing, OSPF, BGP, IP tunneling, and high availability (HA) features. Through hands-on labs and demos, gain experience configuring and monitoring network device operations. This subject uses Juniper Networks vSRX Series Services Gateways for the hands-on component, but the lab environment does not preclude the content from being applicable to other hardware platforms.

On completion of this subject, I acquired practical working knowledge of:

  • Junos Operating System Fundamentals

  • User interface options

  • Initial Configuration

  • Secondary System Configuration

  • Operational Monitoring and Maintenance

  • Routing Fundamentals

  • Routing policy and firewall filters

  • Class of Service

  • Protocol-Independent Routing

  • Load Balancing and Filter-Based Forwarding

  • Open Shortest Path First – Multi Area

  • IS-IS

  • Border Gateway Protocol

  • IP tunneling

  • High availability
